Telephone

Tulia was sick over Thanksgiving long weekend.  We had plans to go to the park and trail with Evan, Ansen and Isaac on Sunday.  On Monday we planned to visit Brickworks for another trail with VJ, MikeRana, VeronHenry.  We ended up skipping all the lovely events to stay home with Tulia because she was throwing up and had a fever.

So we let her took a day off from school yesterday just so she recovers fully.  Because she woke up really early (right before I left for work), I had to get her breakfast.  Gay was still in bed so I asked her to call me if she needs someone to talk to.  She tried dialling a few times but kept making errors and was unable to dial the 10 digits right.  It was the first time I taught her using the phone to call.  I then said maybe I'll just call her instead and she just needs to answer the phone.

I left home and while I was still sitting in the car on the driveway, my phone rang.  It was my girl calling me!  I was very excited and we chatted a bit.  Then dad comes down and we said bye.  I called her back and she picked up the phone saying "You again?"  I couldn't stop laughing.  We hang up and she called me one more time afterwards asking to play toys after breakfast.  I then hear him asking Gay, "can I bring the phone to grandma's house?"  She might be thinking that, the home phone is the only one that can call mommy. 

Afterwards Gay told me that when he came downstairs, he saw Tulia lying across the stairs talking to me on the phone.  I feel the days of Tulia on the phone with her friends might come sooner than I imagine.

I hope I get a phone call from her again soon :p

Funny Conversations

It is funny how Tulia speaks Chinese. Definitely a CBC

What she said:
爸B, 我唔要你瞓我
What she meant:
Dad, I don't want you to sleep with me

Then I saw a corsage in her room not remembering where that came from. She said:
喺church 呀！你講嘢呀
And she meant at church, when I was the MC for a wedding, I had the corsage.

When I have to delete photos from the camera's memory card, I say: 要洗咗啲相。Tulia, with her cute understanding, take it as "wash". So now from time to time she says she needs to wash her camera. Cute!，

We were pasting some stickers when Tulia saw one with the mop. She says : 拖地 te te T sound. She is doing well with the phonics. Haha

More of these phonics such as referring to 表姐 biu biu B sound.

At dinner she suddenly said "I want to have big milk (boobs she meant). Gay asked her why and she said because she wants to feed lots of milk to her baby. Gay can't stop laughing.

靚嘢

Since we went to Jamaica in June, Tulia has been speaking more and more Chinese. We are very happy about it of course, but it is probably changing back to all English once school starts in a week or so.

Yesterday when Tulia was changed and gay saw the underwear she picked. Gay said 嘩！而家小朋友啲底褲都咁靚！to which Tulia responded saying 我好鍾意靚嘢㗎and we all burst out laughing. Gay cannot resist but said he will keep buying her 靚嘢

Birthday and Anniversary

Yesterday was Tulia's 4th birthday and our 6th anniversary. I cannot believe Tulia is already 4! Happy Birthday to my little girl.

We went to church, followed. Y her favorite lunch menu: crab meat sushi and shrimp tempura. Then we went to chuck e cheese. It was a zoo there. She got to unwrap her presents after nap and we went out for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The kids were really noisy and gay was a bit ticked off because we do not hv any time for ourselves at all! Maybe he is right. We are better off staying home ordering take out than bringing them out expecting them to b quiet. (I am looking forward to having mom back so she can help is babysit and we. An celebrate our 15th dating anniversary in October).

Funny thing Tulia said yesterday was when we left the parking lot gay asked me to watch out of the Porsche that's backing out, not seeming to have seen our car. I said that's an expensive car and then Tulia said it is the GTR-Lo, Gay's favorite car! We laughed our heads off as gay had been talking about it and obviously she had picked it up! Then she started singing "Reflection", Mulan's song in a mix of Mandarin and English. Gay and I were trying to figure out what she was singing as if we were playing the 估歌仔game!

As for Rex, he has been strapped down all weekend. On Saturday we went to Centre island where he was in the car seat almost all afternoon. Yesterday when Tulia was at Chuck e cheese he was also in the car seat as well as during the almost two hour dinner. I suppose sitting makes one sleepy. He almost fell asleep on the booster and when he spotted us watching him, he just smiled through it. So cute! Well, he ate two slices of bread and drank lots of milk during dinner so he slept at the car and continued sleeping even though I changed his diaper and clothes. Must b exhausting for him.

We ended the night with Christine's cupcakes for Tulia and singing her the birthday song. I was asking gay to give me a surprise for our anniversary before the night ended but I was so tired to stay up for it. I went to sleep right after putting Tulia to bed.

I am spending my last three weeks of vacation with TRex almost 24/7. At times it is overwhelming as I kept being pulled in different directions with Rex screaming and Tulia calling "Mommy, Mommy". However, as with Christine who I expected to not want her big sister to pick her up from school etc (which turned out that she never got to the point of not wanting me), I don't know how much longer I am needed so much. So though I wish they quiet down sometimes, I am treasuring every moment of it, knowing they will not 纏住我forever. they grow too fast and I really feel it this year while I am on mat leave, spending so much time with them. I love you Tulia and Rex!

鬥志鬥力

同 Tulia 鬥志鬥力 is really tiring. She is super stubborn and if I don't answer her or go as her wishes she would lose it completely. I am still trying out different ways to deal with her as most of the time I can predict it happening (as I am not always in agreement with her). What I find out as a penalty for wt is to be alone. She is very uncomfortable being left alone. Rather than keep scolding, keeping silent seems to make her more uneasy

Little sister

Yesterday Tulia had a genius idea, of which Gay and I had our jaws dropped. Tulia asked for a little sister! She said now that she has a little brother she wants a little sister. She wants to be big sister of two babies! I tried to deter her from the idea telling her that raising another baby is a lot of work. She might pull her hair like Rex, etc but she just insisted in the idea. Eventually I told her that there is no guarantee she gets a baby sister as it is up to God what we get. She did not like the idea that another baby might mean another brother so she gave it up.

EQ Challenge

With Tulia every day is a challenge. On a good day she will be fine. However, more often than not, she has behavioral (or emotional) challenges for us to deal with.

Our plan for when I go back to work after JK starts is for Gay to deal with her morning routines and take her to school. I am somewhat worried about the clashes as Gay does not have a lot of patience for her. I hope it won't be disastrous. I am not too worried about the logistics but I just don't want these morning interactions to hurt the dad-daughter relationship. Hopefully I am just worrying too much and that they can create a closer and sweeter bond this way.

Breastfeeding

It is already August and I am really counting the days till I go back to work in September. Gotta sleep train Rex and get him off breast milk. Actually I should have started a month or two ago re: breastfeeding. However, knowing this is my last kid (or so we planned) I have been very reluctant to wean him. 唔捨得it is. It is such a warm feeling to be able to cuddle him in my arms and it is the time I feel that he is my baby the most. Otherwise he has grown too fast that i am almost in disbelief that he will turn one next month.

But as much as I don't want to, I have started the mission and my supply has gone down significantly. Guess I am on the mission of his toddler years soon.

細佬，波波

好高興細佬加入我哋家庭，睇見靜靜同細佬嘅交流係好有趣。靜靜冇乜耐性，但神奇地佢對Rex有時容忍度好高。好似有次喺車，佢叫我哋全部（基，Ceci,我）收聲，因為嘈到佢耳仔痛，但Rex例外。另外佢氹細佬玩嘅聲缐亦特別温柔，好似俾波Rex嘅「細佬，波波」就係classic。

Jamaica

Just came back from our Jamaica trip. During this trip we have seen a lot of growth in both kids. Tulia was more independent in feeding herself and Rex has decided to stand up on the playpen. Tulia has picked up speaking more Chinese too. I suppose this is bc we are together all the time and she was not in school.

晨早趣事

正在發夢的我，突然有三把聲音喺我耳邊出現。
爸B突然紮醒，細佬同時大喊，行緊出房去睇細佬之際，胡靜靜再嚟一個Yoo Hoo聲，對熟睡嘅我實在係太刺激喇！好在人仔都瞓番

幸運•感動

二月五號弟弟終於轉到身，七號見佢玩玩具識左右手交換。

做咗媽媽之後，好容易會感動。

好慶幸有第二次機會做媽媽，因為今次再湊BB，從容得多。上次由於太緊張，又可能因為班朋友都未有BB，覺得孤寂，所以有啲唔開心。今次適應咗媽咪呢個身份，加上弟弟容易湊，呢次產假過得真係開心。睇住Rex一日一曰咁長大，時間實在過得太快喇！前兩日抱起Rex，有一下感動到想喊。從來都唔係極度鍾意小朋友嘅人，但係見到弟弟笑我就心都溶晒！

講咗Rexy咁耐，又點少得Tulia大家姐？經歷真係會令人長大，自從有咗細佬之後，靜靜大個咗好多。每晚臨瞓前去睇佢兩個小靈精，就只有感動同感恩嘅感覺。原來靜靜就快3歳半喇！佢嘅長大提醒我千祈唔好放過任何陪佢哋嘅機會，因為過咗嘅呢3年半我係冇得返轉頭喇！當年轉政府工真係一個good move.

而家我只希望上天繼續眷顧我，賜我能力好好教佢哋。

新年

話咁快就新年。希望2012大家開開心心。呢個聖誕節都係飲飮食食。由於細佬係一個easy baby，我哋一家竟然可以去旅行-Niagara Falls. 兩日一夜不過都執咗成個suitcase。同小朋友旅行一啲都唔輕便。除咗食嘢，就係同靜靜去D&B玩。佢都係第一次，玩咗成3個鐘，一上車即刻暈咗，嘻嘻！啱啱整好啲photo calendar,睇番2011年嘅相，才發現原來靜靜喺呢一年大個咗好多!
